What about The Bu?
The less acidic taste is the intended result of our unique culture in our secret recipe. We’ve managed the perfect ratio of all the elements that go into making kombucha so it’s less pungent, but still tangy, without that vinegar taste to overpower the flavor. The Bu Kombucha is effervescent and smooth, and pairs well with your favorite foods. The Bu Kombucha mixes and blends well to make custom drinks too.
The Bu is raw and authentic, low in sugar, and has unique non-vinegary flavors. The Bu combines all of these appealing characteristics to create a healthy and delicious kombucha. Some other kombuchas are authentic but they add unhealthy fruit juice to hide the pungent taste. Other brands call themselves kombucha but pasteurize their product which kills the live healthy goodness from the ferment.
The Bu contains the lowest sugar of any kombucha at 5g of sugar per serving, with only 25 calories. Each bottle contains 2 servings per bottle. We brew The Bu to deliver maximum flavor with the lowest sugar count. Our goal is to deliver a beverage that supports a healthy lifestyle. The Bu will supercharge your fitness-focused routine with a probiotic, low-glycemic, low-carb infusion of live energy. No matter what your goal, the Bu Kombucha can be enjoyed as an everyday experience, especially as a substitute for sugary sodas and other commercial beverages.
The Bu Kombucha is low in sugar at only 5 grams per serving. We’ve developed a special low-calorie blend of organic cane sugar and organic agave syrup to catalyze the ferment and to minimize the sugar remaining after the fermentation process is complete.
The Bu Kombucha has seven flavors to enjoy: Tropical, Lavender, Honeydew, Ginger Peach, Tangerine, Strawberry, Lemon Ginseng. We encourage you to try them all to find your favorite flavor. Though all of the Bu kombucha drinks are wildly refreshing, Tropical and Lavender are go-to favorites. Try those first if you are just getting into The Bu!
The Bu kombucha has many health and diet qualities to fit even the most restrictive diets. The Bu is:
- Low in sugar (meets standard for low carb, low glycemic diets)
- No fruit juice added
- Raw (brewed without heat or pasteurization)
- Vegan (no animal products in the brewing process or drink)
- Gut-healthy (2 billion probiotics in every bottle)
2 billion per bottle! It’s hard to imagine but in every sip, you are getting a dose of gut-healing, flavorful and organic cultures that deliver a full range of health benefits without any side effects or caffeine crash. Lots of people enjoy kombucha to realize the gut-health benefits and you know that you are getting 2 billion probiotics in every bottle.
“The Bu” is a nod to a slang term for “KomBUcha.” Plus, we just like how it sounds. BU!
We, at The Bu Kombucha, are passionate about doing our part to curb the unhealthy American addiction to sugar. Sugar-sweetened beverages significantly influence obesity rates. Obesity is a risk factor for the development of diabetes, heart disease and cancer. The Bu donates and supports organizations that fight obesity.
What about Kombucha?
Kombucha is a fermented, effervescent, and lightly sweetened black or green tea drink, commonly intended as a functional beverage for its health benefits.
“SCOBY” is actually an acronym: Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast. A SCOBY is the living home for the bacteria and yeast that transform sweet tea into tangy, fizzy kombucha. The SCOBY seals off the fermenting kombucha from the air and protects it from outside, undesirable bacteria while it’s fermenting.
- The compounds it contains have been associated in some studies with inflammation, lowering cholesterol, lowering blood sugar, antimicrobial action and improvement of liver and GI function.
- Many people find that kombucha helps with digestion, boosts their immune system and gives them a powerful energy boost. This is thanks to the vitamins, healthy organic acids, antioxidants and the polysaccharides that are a great source of natural energy.
Everyone has a unique system, therefore we suggest listening to your body when trying to determine the appropriate amount for you.
If kombucha is not kept refrigerated, a second fermentation may happen in the bottle. The product could become slightly more carbonated and its taste might evolve to become more acidic.
